Though honey acts as a great addition for our health, it should be used with precaution for children. It contains spores which may prove life threatening for children below one year of age, causing infant botulism in them.

Person suffering from any kind of pollen allergies should avoid eating honey straight from the comb, as it is in its purist and natural form.  The filtered and pasteurized honey which is available in the market could be more preferable for them, as it has lesser amounts of pollens contained in it.
