Many of us overlook the importance and need of breakfast in our meals. Actually speaking it is the most important part as it provides energy to the body after a long break of 7-8 hours after the last meal. A good and complete breakfast also helps improve the metabolism and ensures the vital nutrients in the body. Those who skip breakfast often experience a drop in their energy levels during mid-morning time, as compared to those who have a healthy breakfast as it sustains the energy in the body till lunch time.

A cup of tea or coffee doesn’t comprise of a healthy breakfast. It should consist of food which contains fiber, proteins and is low in fat. Foods like fresh fruits, low fat dairy products, cereals and egg white may also be included in it. The manner in which you consume your breakfast also matters. Mornings are mostly a rush in the house and we tend to eat in a hurry, trying to complete the other chores in the meantime. However, it is not good to do so. Try to find time and be relaxed while having your breakfast. If you can’t find time to prepare it early morning, you can go for alternatives like fresh fruits, juices, cereals or brown bread which does not requires cooking and can be prepared in less time.

Many of us are unaware of the fact that breakfast helps weight loss in a healthy way. It provides you with enough energy to avoid the need of eating unhealthy snacks in between the meals. It helps you replace calorie filled snacks with fresh fruits and thereby, reduce extra weight. Here are some ideas for a healthy breakfast to help you lose weight.

The first step to take is to stock up your refrigerator with healthy foods and drinks every weekend so that you can easily plan on your breakfast without taking much time.

Juice: fresh fruit juices of good quality may be preferred for morning. You can also vary the taste by adding some lime or combining two to three flavors. You should always try to use and extract juice from seasonal fruits.

Egg: Anything made up of egg would definitely be healthy and tasty as well. You can try several recipes like scrambling it or making an omelet, making it with mushrooms or green peas or having it just like that. It would definitely benefit your health.

Cereals: They are a rich source of fiber and proteins and can be healthy when combined with honey and fresh fruits. Cornflakes, oatmeal and wheat flakes when taken with a bowl of milk help stay strong and fit for a longer time.

Smoothies: These are very nutritious and are even easy to prepare. You can add fresh fruits of your choice, dry fruits and low fat yogurt to make it tastier and add flavor.

Sandwich: Sandwiches made with wholegrain bread are lighter on tummy, gives you energy and keeps you fuller for a longer time. You can add some veggies and grated cheese to it and take two of them for breakfast.

To make your meals more interesting, try experimenting on food and keep it less restricted so that you can have foods from all food groups. This would not only give you the needed nutrients, but would also keep you excited and motivated about your meals and weight loss.
